Background

I was born and raised in the state of Louisiana, but with my love of the sun and the ocean, I always knew one day I would live in Florida.

After my collegiate softball career prematurely ended due to an injury, I was given the opportunity to find a new passion in life and thus began my journey into mental health.

I moved to Orlando to pursue my Bachelor's in Psychology at Southeastern University. With the momentum of following my passion, I then obtained a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University, I got married to the love of my life, built my first home, and began my dream career with the Team at Sweet Maple Counseling.

When I am away from the office my husband and I love spending our time outdoors playing tennis, being on the water, going to amusement parks, or finding local live music to enjoy .

When we have the opportunity, we love to travel whether that be visiting my family back home, hiking national parks, or exploring other cultures around the world.

Approach

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of gaining vast work experience with a diverse range of individuals, including children (ages 3 and up), teens, adults, couples, and family systems.

I utilize several evidence-based approaches, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TF-CBT, Gottman, The Zones of Regulation, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Relational Therapy.

I believe that everyone’s journey is unique, and I adapt research- based methods to support the individual needs of my clients in order to help them build their own “toolbox” of skills and techniques that work best for them to overcome obstacles and thrive.
