Background

My journey in life thus far never has me too far from the ocean.

I grew up in Jacksonville Beach before taking an athletic scholarship to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, running track and cross country as I pursued a B.A. in Social Work. After getting a thorough education in social work AND life (NCAA Division I sports teach you A LOT about discipline, overcoming adversity, pursuing your dreams, and having faith in the face of challenge), I landed at the University of Central Florida for my post-graduate studies.

With my Masters degree in hand, I jumped into doing what I love — helping children, teens and families find peace, harmony and joy in their family systems. I am so inspired by how often an individual client's growth can directly (and positively) impact the health and happiness of their entire family.

Outside of the office, I love relaxing in nature with my husband, Kurt and son Hyder. If we're not hanging out in Downtown Winter Garden, I usually am in our backyard/ little farm with our four pups, sulcata tortoise, chickens, and bees.

Approach

My therapy sessions emphasize an evidence based, collaborative approach with each individual client. This is something I value in my work. I use scientifically proven therapeutic approaches, typically CBT, Integrative or holistic therapy and psychodynamic therapies, as well as EMDR to help you reach your goals.

I’m a big believer that the value of therapy comes, not just from the insights you discover in the session, but from integrating what you learn into your everyday life. You’ll leave therapy with a new, refined “toolbox” of strategies to help you stay on track, move forward with your life and successfully navigate any bumps further along your journey.
