Background
I grew up in Kentucky and have called the Orlando area home since college. My career began in Child Welfare where I developed a drive for the healing profession. My various roles in leadership later lead me into private practice following graduate school at Florida State University. My position at Sweet Maple has allowed my passion to flourish. It is nothing short of an honor helping clients, families and couples reach their goals. We are all humans on this journey to happiness together. My free time is spent chasing after my young son or dog Cooper, listening to a random podcast or trying new local restaurants.
Approach
My background in Social Work provides a fresh perspective into life’s obstacles. I am trained to not view client’s as a diagnosis and instead focus first on their strengths and how, we together can overcome challenges. I utilize several evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy, etc. I find that having a strong clinical foundation and tailoring a treatment plan with these various modalities to a client or family’s needs is the most effective approach. My ultimate goal is that clients leave sessions feeling confident to apply these interventions into the real world. This is where the true change and healing takes place.
