Background

As a child, I moved around frequently. Some might say those experiences were the seeds that planted my interest in becoming a counselor. I grew up in Boston before moving to South Florida as a pre-teen. By age 13, I knew deep in my heart that I would one day take the journey towards becoming a therapist. I attended the University of Central Florida for my B.S. in Psychology and stayed at UCF for my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. My career at Sweet Maple has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally in so many ways. Working with clients to help them navigate through their life’s journey and witnessing the courage and perseverance is something I am so honored to do.

During my free time, you will find me spending time with my dog, Nala. I love being outdoors and hiking through nature trails, bike-riding and practicing hot yoga. You might also find me in a local coffee shop as I am a coffee enthusiast!

Approach

My therapy methods begin and end with the client in the driver’s seat. I believe that everyone has the power to take control of their lives, but sometimes just need to be given the space and a little extra support. I utilize a variety of evidenced-based techniques from my integrated “tool box,” to facilitate growth and foster self-worth in all of my clients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Integrative Psychodynamic Therapy. I also utilize the Gottman Method, when working with couples. The process of therapy is your personal journey and my job is to facilitate it and provide you with encouragement along the way. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling empowered and able to integrate these tools into their daily practice.
